Day 31 - Westonka Pride

Today's post is from junior Jack Ryan

5...4...3...2...1...0, the fans stormed the field from both sides going crazy. Our football team had just beaten Watertown Mayer 24-19 in our first win in five years. The whole stadium was electric and couldn’t contain their excitement. The smiles on both the players and the parents of the players was indescribable.

There were people taking pictures of the scoreboard and of the team. That was in 2010 when the White Hawks beat Watertown in a back and forth game. I can remember that moment like it was today, and I can’t remember much else in 2010. The atmosphere in the stadium is what makes me proud of being a White Hawk. That is why I go to every football game I can.  For those kind of moments. For being able to witness a win for our football team, that sadly is rare.

I think the future holds better fortune for our team. I believe that every game that we play in we have a chance to win. No matter who the opponent. Because on any given day we can play like we did in 2010 when we beat Watertown. That is what Westonka pride is. It’s about never giving up!
